Southern Kailash
Srisailam Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple is a uniquely sacred destination, being one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and also one of the eighteen Maha Shakti Peethas of Goddess Parvati. Situated on the flat top of Nallamala Hills on the banks of the Krishna River, it is often referred to as 'Kailash of the South'. The temple architecture is a breathtaking display of Dravidian excellence, with fortified walls and intricate carvings that date back to the Satavahana and Vijayanagara empires. It is one of the few temples where devotees can personally touch the Jyotirlinga and perform abhishekam.
Sparsha Darshan
Unlike many other Jyotirlingas, Srisailam allows common devotees to touch the main linga, fostering a direct spiritual connection.
Bhramaramba Shakti Peetha
Revered as the place where Sati Devi's neck fell, it is one of the 18 Maha Shakti Peethas mentioned in the ancient texts.
